Cookie Policy

General information on cookies

Cookies are short text files (of letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the user’s Internet browser) to be reused while browsing the website (session cookies) or later, even days later (persistent cookies). According to user preferences, cookies are stored by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Cookies serve different purposes. They are primarily used for the transmission of communications, or to provide the service requested by the user; more precisely, they allow to enable and optimise the operation of the website, perform IT authentications and prevent abuse, monitor sessions, improve the user browsing experience such as by keeping the connection to restricted areas active while browsing through the pages of the site without the need to re-enter a user ID and password, and storing specific information as regards the users themselves (including preferences, type of browser and computer used).
These cookies are called “technical” cookies (the user’s consent is not required for their use), as without them some of the above operations could not be completed, or would be more complex and/or less secure.
If cookies are used for additional purposes, which is typically for behavioural analysis and sending personalised promotional/advertising messages (so-called “profiling” cookies), or even just to obtain information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they use the site ( “analytics cookie”) through services rendered by third parties, the user’s consent is required. Analytical cookies will instead be assimilated to technical cookies when they are created and used by the site itself (without the intervention of third parties).
Before sending these cookies to the terminal, in accordance with legislation in force (EU Regulation and the General Provision of the Guarantor of 8 May 2014), when you access the home page or any other page of the site, a banner is immediately shown in the foreground with an initial brief disclosure on the use of cookies and obtaining consent, which the user can give by continuing to browse by selecting an element under the banner or by closing the banner itself.
In any case, cookies can only be read or modified by the website that generated them; they cannot be used to retrieve any data from the user’s terminal and cannot transmit computer viruses.

Use of cookies on this site

This site may use session and persistent technical cookies, which can be classified as follows.

  • Essential Cookies: these are technical cookies that are required to allow browsing. Without these cookies, we are not able to provide some services or functions that facilitate navigation and make it easier.
  • Performance Cookies or Analytics Cookies: these are technical cookies that collect statistical information, and are therefore anonymous, on the use of the website in order to allow us to improve its operation (ex: most frequently visited pages, etc.).
  • Functional Cookies: these are technical cookies that allow us to remember the choices made by the user on the site or products and services purchased. These cookies allow us to design and provide increasingly efficient and personalised services.

This site also allows the use of third-party analytics cookies, of which I.L.M.E. S.p.A. does not manage their operation (hence it does not have control and access to the information provided/acquired), as their functioning is the responsibility of the third parties.
This particular regards the Google Analytics service, activated with the IP anonymisation function.
