Corrosion is a natural yet critical phenomenon, defined as the progressive degradation of a material due to its interaction with the surrounding environment, which can significantly accelerate this process, potentially compromising the reliability and long-term durability of electrical systems. It can be caused by:
For this reason, at ILME, corrosion resistance is evaluated during connector design especially from a functional standpoint: corrosion must never become penetrating, affect the connector locking mechanisms, or allow contaminations of internal contacts and terminations, as this would compromise electrical performance. Salt spray testing provides a controlled, repeatable benchmark to verify resistance levels beyond purely aesthetic standards.
We offer a comprehensive portfolio of solutions engineered to meet specific environmental conditions and application requirements. The more demanding the scenario, the higher the level of protection our enclosures deliver.
